Mazel Tov For A Peaceful Year!

[Read JUDG 6:12-16a]

Mazel Tov [best wishes] for your New Year! This Hebrew/Yiddish term is used at celebrations to basically say, Let’s celebrate, or congratulations! In this case I’m wishing G-d’s best for your New Year, dear Manoah reader! His best for you would include manoah–rest, peace, promises, assurance, strength, and trust, something to hold onto or rest in! It is also used of anything that brings rest, peace, trust, strength.

In today’s passage, Israel’s Judge Gideon hears awesome, affirming words from the Malak [Angel, Messenger] of G-d–Messiah. And those words were ALL manoah!

The L-rd is with you, mighty warrior–assurance and promise. Go in the strength you have and deliver Israelstrength, assurance. Am I not sending you? I will be with you–promise, trust.

  • The L-rd affirmed Gideon [a Tenach blessing] with a pronouncement of his potential strength–and yours also. [When was the last time you did that for someone else?]
  • The L-rd promised to be with him–and with you also. [When was the last time you promised to be with someone else in their struggles?]

The L-rd sent Him…strengthened him…went with him–and He will do the same for you also! gj

Selah…Shalom…FB
